Dada: Marcel Duchamp

Marcel Duchamp was one talented guy, he was vastly associated with the Dadaist and Surrealist movements, both impacting the world of art in various ways. Dada explored the realms of ‘anti art’ and has bought about many debates and conclusions and in some ways, similar comparisons with surrealist art can be drawn. As both have the same art direction/ stylistic qualities of engaging in the world of wonderful weirdness, this is why the movements have had a dramatic influence on many generations as you can see it’s revival in some shape or form in the 1960s with the ‘tripped out’, ‘acid / weird’ theme. For this very reasoning, Duchamp was considered by some to be one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
